Trip to meet Steven Gerrard XD

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Ok, first of all, it's not a trip to meet Steven Gerrard. It's just a trip to London only. I had a great time there but it's really tiring. My legs hurt cause I need to walk a lots. Haha. Not really used to it.

My flight departed at 1am 12th May 2009 at LCCT. Well, Aida drove me to LCCT. Thanks Aida :D Actually I don't know how to check in at airport, I don't know anything about boarding pass or whatever but I did a lot of homework before departed. And it's worth much more than I expected. After checked in and undergone multilevel passport checking and plain screening at LCCT counter, I waited for about one hour before I went into the plane. Because of I was extremely thirsty while waiting, I bought two bottle of mineral water which cost me RM8. Wow, so expensive huh? But, that's airport... Everybody's knew it. So, after about 13 hours in the plane in which I didn't do anything other than sleeping, I arrived at Stansted Airport. I was so excited, can't wait to greet London. Huhu. I already felt the coldness when I stepped out from the plane. So cold but lucky it's spring... At the Counter to check my passport and so on, the lady ask me a lot. Worried that I'm planning to do harm cause I'm traveling alone? Huhu, but, it's ok though. After a long question answers sessions, I was 'released' to pick up my bag. Lucky me that I have two others Malaysian that travel under the same agency. So, we bought return tickets London-Stansted cost me 17 GBP(Great Britain Pound). That's the first money that I spent in England. Well, after about 1 hour plus in the bus, we stopped at Marble Arch. From there, we bought Tube ticket to Russel Square station which is the nearest station to our Hotel, Royal National Hotel:

At the reception counter, we separated and plan to meet again on our last day to go to Stansted together. So, my journey started. Oh, before that, this is my room:

On the first day, I only bought single ticket at the Tube counter from Marble Arch to Russel Square because I planned to walk around the hotel only. On the next day onward, I bought 1 day travel card everyday which cost me 5.60 GBP. Everyday, before started my journey, I walked to Russel Square Garden which is about 300m from the hotel to turn on my GPS only. Huhu. Funny isn't it. After acquiring the satellite signal, then I started my journey. So, here's the pictures at The British Museum on the first day. I don't like museum much but hey, it's free XD and it's only 600m from my hotel.

Don't ask me what's that. Forgot already. XD

This is Amenhotep... I think. Hmm, again, forgot. XD

This is at Islamic area in British Museum. There are another pictures, but, it's too many to upload plus my internet is slow right now. XD

Ok, after british museum... That's all because it's already 6pm there. I headed back to hotel and rest. I ate maggie which I brought from Malaysia and there is one shop near hotel that sells halal food. Again, lucky me. :D

On my second day in London, I walked to King Cross St Pancras station to look for tickets to Norfolk where my friend stay. But, there are no trains that directly stop at Norfolk, so, I went took tube to Victoria coach station which is near Victoria Underground. Unfortunately, there is no direct coach to Norfolk where my friends stay. I was really dissapointed so, I rest at this garden. XD

After rest for a while, I walked again and guess where my legs brought me?
It's Buckingham Palace!!!

Those memorial is in front the Buckingham Palace.

After taking lots of pictures at the palace, I decided to go back to hotel but on the way back I was attracted to The Royal Mews where the royal collection of historic coaches and carriage were put. So, I paid 7.50GBP and rolled in.

On the 3rd day, the real plan is to visit my friend but unfortunately the plan was canceled so, I visit Arsenal and Chelsea Football Stadium. XD

And I spent the rest of the day by wandering around. No shopping and no visit to other place. Oh, I bought story books there. Each book cost 2BGP. Sounds cheap huh? But, the books in that bookstore is great. :D

On my 4th day, I went Albert Memorial, Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Palace and Pavillion.
Albert Memorial.
In front of Royal Albert Hall which also in front of Albert Memorial...
This is at the Kensington Palace. A nice couple help me took this picture :D
Lastly but not least, Pavillion!!!! Haha

Ok, on my 5th. 5th day is my failing day because I couldn't find the museum that I want to go. I followed my GPS but then I couldn't find the entry to the museum. Plus, London is crying that day, so, it's so cold and I decided to just walk around London and eating at Marble Arch. Oh, did I mention that Marble Arch has a lots of Halal Foods. In fact, I ate at subway for my lunch. XD But, no McD halal there.

And the last day in London, 6th day. I went to St. James Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Jewel Tower and Big Ben.
St. James Palace.

St. James Park

Westminster Abbey where the royal families were buried?

Houses of Parliament with the Big Ben

Jewel Tower

And that was the last place I went in London. Oh, from Westminster, there are underground station but it was closed probably because there was a demonstration by the Sri Lankan I think.

That night, I went to Stansted and boarding to go back to Malaysia. :D Oh, I got in trouble at the immigration. My back pack got scanned and there is something wrong so they need to check my back pack but guess what, they didn't find anything that will make them satisfied I think. They took my laptop for a while, took info from me and scan my bags for several times before they let me go. XD I'm a good citizen of Malaysia :D Got nothing to hide, huh...

Mother's day?

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Mother' Day... Remind me again why did we celebrate it? I'm not a mother so, maybe I don't see the beauty or the function of mother's day. But, in my deep opinion, today is not a mother's day. Why did we worship our mother for only one day? Why we wish our mother for one day? And why did we bought present for our mother for only this day? Nothing special about the second Sunday of June. I love my mother although she always said I don't love her. With all my heart, even though my heart is just an inch in size or even though there is no heart in my body when I'm dead, I LOVE MY MOTHER VERY MUCH. Nothing can change that. Even though when I have a misunderstanding with my mother, I still love her after both of us cool down which never took more than 30 minutes. It's human nature to hate or to angry but when we cool down and can think again, it's not hate that stay in our heart but love. Hate is easy to nurture and love is hard to fade away. So, again, why did we celebrate our mother for only one day? Why not 7 days, 30 days or 365 days? I hate mother's day because it's only one day but I do love my mom. Mom, even though you won't read this, I just want the world to know that I love you very much. Maybe when I become a mom, I'll start to appreciate mother's day. I said maybe...

Should I or Shouldn't I donate?

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Today, May 7th 2009, I went to Mydin MITC. Very big. The biggest Mydin building that I ever been. But, it's not about Mydin that I want to talk now. It's about charity. Yeah, charity. I went to Tesco after Mydin. Actually I was looking for adapter for my gadget. After searching the whole Tesco and got nothing, I decided to stop by at Secret Recipe. I ordered lasagne and iced white caramel mocha. Hmmm...yummy... :D While I was enjoying my lunch plus dinner, a boy age around 10 year old came to me. He was wearing songkok with brown shirt and black bag at his side. At his hand, he was holding a small bottle and receipt book. He talked to me about buying the small bottle which turn out to be a balm and he also said about 'amal'. I asked him a lot about which school, why here, for what etc. Because of I didn't satisfied with the answers, I refused to buy and donate. I was thinking about being cheated or something. But, then the boy said, if don't want to buy, giving him rm1 or rm2 is enough. He said it's for orphanage home. I didn't reply and I sat quietly for a long time but the boy didn't go. Maybe he thinks finally he could get something from me. At last, I opened my wallet and gave him rm1. After giving him, I still thinks about it. Should I or shouldn't I? I pity the boy but I don't know what to do. What if he's telling the truth? But, what if he's lying? I don't know. Interestingly, this is the second time I was approached for donation while I was enjoying my meal at Secret Recipe with the same menu, lasagne and white caramel mocha! The first one was in Jusco Kepong. A young guy who claimed he is deaf and couldn't talk approached me while I was having lasagne and white caramel mocha! I think anybody could guess what was the ending of the story... Huargh!!! Maybe I shouldn't order lasagne and white caramel mocha anymore... Hihihi...
